Germantown Highlights

Germantown HouseOriginating as a Memphis premiere executive bedroom community, Germantown Tennessee still bears traces of its origin as a village of white picket-fenced horse farms and narrow, hilly streets.  With more than 300 acres of parkland, an impressive recreation center, that includes indoor and outdoor olympic size swimming facilities, a community theater, chamber orchestra and a state-of-the-art performing arts center, Germantown, is one of Tennessee’s most attractive and vibrant residential communities.

Germantown, with a population of 40,203+, showcases its thoughtful planning through an excellent environment in which its residents live, work and play. The City of Germantown delivers superior public services, relying on citizen involvement to build a high quality of life shared by people of all ages and backgrounds.

Bartlett “up close and personal”

Ranging from starter homes to luxurious estates, 96 percent of Bartlett Tennessee ’s residents live in single family dwellings.  Located to the northeast of Memphis, Bartlett is noted for excellent schools, plentiful churches, library, performing arts center and two public recreation centers.

From a tiny railway crossing town of only 508 people in 1960, Bartlett has experienced amazing and rapid growth since, becoming a bustling community of over 43,000 people in 2005.  In 2002 Bartlett designated an official Historic District and its original train depot has blossomed into the Bartlett Station community.

Shelby County Information

In addition to Bartlett and Germantown, several other towns in Shelby County have their own unique character and appeal.

Located in east Shelby County, Collierville has experienced phenomenal growth, but still has plenty of small town charm.  An historic Old Town Square and excellent schools, antique shops and a performing arts center are what make Collierville attractive to residents and visitors alike.

In northeast Shelby County you can find Lakeland, with its beautiful lakefront homes and new subdivisions with trees and shaded lawns.  Lakeland is an ideal place to raise a family.

Known as Flag City, Tennessee, Millington is a blend of old and new, military and private.  Located in northwest Shelby County Millington is close to Meeman-Shelby State Park, a 12,500 acre natural wonderland along the Mississippi River.
